The Homeschool Languages Monthly Roundup

In case you missed it: your monthly recap of what's new, what families are loving, and what's worth reading.
July 31, 2026
Hi, friend!
Can you believe it will be August tomorrow!? We hope that you've been having an incredible summer so far, whatever that looks like for your family. Whether you've been taking some time off from classwork or are year-round homeschooling, we hope that you've been enjoying the sunshine as much as we have! ☀️
At Homeschool Languages, we've had a busy summer preparing for our ASL release (EEK!!) and collaborating with some amazing organizations like Swimming With Confidence. You can catch up on everything we've been up to below!
💛 Happy language learning! As always, we are cheering you on!!

In this blog post, discover tips for teaching Spanish to your kids, review some common teaching mistakes and how to avoid them, and see a sample timeline for what learning Spanish could look like!

Take advantage of the time your family is already spending in the water this summer to teach them the lifesaving skill of swimming! We've collaborated with Swimming with Confidence to offer Swim Lessons in a Box, a 24-lesson curriculum created by a swim coach and mom to empower families to teach their children how to swim. This two-level swim course comes with everything you need for your whole family, so you can dive right in!

What’s New at Homeschool Languages

The greater part of our July has been dedicated to readying our new ASL curriculum, which we are SO excited about!! A huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who has preordered and helped us get to this point! 💗
We have been especially excited to start seeing some ASL samples come back from production! If you'd like to get in on the sneak peeks, you can:
➡️ View the sample of the digital textbook (the first ten lessons are included, although video links won't be working just yet).
➡️ Check out our video and images of the sample box, which is nearly finished! (You'll need to be in our Facebook Group to view this one... you can join here!)
➡️ Preview the video book that we are creating to go in the ASL box!! (Again, you'll need to join the Facebook group first!)
You guys, ASL is so close to the finish line!! 🤩 If you're thinking of adding ASL to your family's learning rhythm, remember that you can save 10% if you preorder it now. We also do have some VIP bundles left (when you preorder the VIP bundle, you'll get your ASL box in September, 4-6 weeks before everyone else)! We will stop taking VIP orders at the end of August, so be sure to place yours now if you want to start ASL faster.
We are so grateful to the many Deaf educators, illustrators, and reviewers who have helped make this curriculum a reality, and to all of you for wanting to bring ASL into your homes. We'll be in touch again soon with more updates!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend!!

Word of the Month

Fußball
Language: German Pronunciation: foos-ball English Meaning: Football (soccer)
This month's word pays tribute to the end of the 2026 World Cup, which provided a fun summer activity for so many families! Beyond sitting down to watch the games together, hopefully, it inspired conversations in your home about other countries and cultures around the world!

What Families Are Saying

"I love that [your curriculum] is made for the student; however, it really is made for the whole family! The whole family is going to learn and live out what is being taught together. I like that it isn’t meant for just sitting at a table with a book, learning. It is actually meant to be a part of your everyday life, to take it off the page, done in such a way that is fun and engaging, that not only excites the children but the parents as well."
